The craft
Every window worked by one honest pair of hands.
No subcontractors. No sales team. No upselling. Just careful timber work, learned over 25 years and done properly, the first time.

What I do
Everything your sash
windows need.
From a single sticking sash to a full period restoration, all by one experienced pair of hands. If a repair will do, I’ll tell you.
Cords, weights & care
The detail most people never see.
Behind every sliding sash is a hidden system of cords, brass pulleys and counterweights, balanced so the window glides and stays where you leave it. Get the detail right and a window made 120 years ago works better than the day it was fitted. That is the part I love, and the part that lasts.
- Re-corded and re-balanced by hand
- Original timber saved wherever it’s sound
- Draught-proofed so it’s warm and quiet

Before & after
See the difference a repair makes.
Rotten, draughty and rattling, or restored, warm and good for another generation. Drag the handle to see what careful work brings back. Most windows people assume are beyond saving simply aren’t.
After
BeforeWhy choose me
The honest, independent choice.
25+ years, hands on
A quarter of a century of restoring, repairing, draught-proofing and replacing sash windows. There is very little I haven’t seen.
The same pair of hands
The person who quotes your windows is the person who does the work. No subcontractors, no agency, no salesmen.
Repair first, always
I’ll tell you honestly when a repair is enough. I won’t sell you new windows you don’t need.
Fixed written quotes
A clear price in writing after a free survey. What I quote is what you pay.
Small jobs welcome
One sticking, rattling or rotten window is worth a callout. You don’t need a whole-house project.
Local & independent
A genuine independent craftsman working across North London and South Hertfordshire, not a national chain.
How it works
Simple, from start to finish.
No pushy sales process, no surprises. Just a straightforward way of working that has kept my customers coming back for 25 years.
Free survey
I come and look at the windows myself, no salesman, no pressure. I tell you plainly what they need and what they don’t.
Fixed written quote
You get a clear, written, fixed price. The price I quote is the price you pay, no surprises and no creeping costs.
The work, by me
The same pair of hands that surveyed your windows does the work. No subcontractors, no agency staff turning up.
Backed by me
I stand behind everything I do. If anything isn’t right, you call me, and I put it right.
The work
A few from the bench.
Tools, timber and finished windows. Real project photography is being added as work comes in.
